This blog will be my musings - sometimes worthwhile to others, sometimes worthless even to me - on how my faith in God and my answer to His call on my life affect the things I do and say. I do not post this to be an example of how to the live the Chris

Just a thought.... In my years in the ministry I have come across many people who claim to have faith in Jesus Christ. They claim to have had a life-changing experience with Him. They claim to have been changed by His power at work in their lives. And yet, they don't behave anyu differently than anyone else. Infact, they are often some of the most difficult people to be around.

Why? Why is it that so few people are truly changed by God's power? I have a notion... I believe that it is because we are so wrapped up in what we get from God, in what we can "do for Him," and what we expect from Him that we seldom focus our hearts and minds on who He is and come simply to sit at His feet and learn from Him. We come to worship and seldom allow ourselves to fully be emersed in praise of the one true God. We read the Bible looking for promises and blessings, all the while missing the greatest blessing of them all, the simple fact that a holy, just God loves us! I am tired of seeing people who call themselves Christians walking around like they are mad at the world. I long for my own life to be so emersed in the Spirit of God that people would not notice who I am. I long for people to say of me, "He is nothing, but His God is powerful!" I want my life to glorify God in every aspect. Why does it feel like so few people make that a priority??

I realize that this sounds judgmental. "Ministers" aren't supposed to talk this way... Bull! I believe God wants us to truly understand His love for us and how He wants us to have joy and peace. Why do so few feel His peace??? Where are the true believers who love God above all else?
